Chapter: 399
Claudia was about to comment that Bennett's friend sounded unpleasant, but upon hearing his words, she suddenly understood Breck.

Maybe... belittling each other was just the way they got along!

"You can rest up for now. We're about twenty minutes away."

Claudia hesitated momentarily, but wanting to be at her best Later, she finally conceded, “I'll take a short nap."

“Okay. Is the temperature of the air conditioner too low?"

“A bit."

As Claudia spoke, she realized she was rather cold in the car.

"Well, I've turned it up."

“Thank you. Mr. Dreskin, you're quite considerate."

“Really?”

As Claudia settled into her seat, preparing to drift off, she mumbled a vague, "Yes."

Bennett chose not to add anything further. The car grew quiet, and within seconds, Claudia was asleep.

Before completely succumbing to slumber, she whispered, “Yes, you are indeed a kind person!"

Glancing at Claudia, who was peacefully asleep beside him, Bennett suddenly felt a reluctance to proceed with their plans. He grabbed his phone and quickly typed a message into the chat group, “I'm skipping afternoon tea. My wife needs rest, and we're heading home. Enjoy yourselves."

Bennett's sudden change of plans ignited anger in the group.

Breck immediately replied, "What??? What's going on? You asked me to call you just ten minutes ago, I called, and you said let's have tea Now you're bailing? How dare you?!"

Duncan added, "I've already left my house. Now you're telling me this?" Grover also said, "Bennett never has afternoon tea. That's code for cancellation."

Breck and Duncan both felt speechless.

Six minutes later.

Bennett replied, “I did want to meet you guys for tea, but my wife needs sleep."

"Yes, yes. We all know you have a wife now!"

"Yeah. Can you stop always showing off?!"

“Just Listen to them, dude!"

Bennett smirked and replied, “Why should I?"
