Chapter: 404
Claudia thought Everly's behavior childish. How could she still act so childishly at her age?
“If I say yes, will you buy me some clothes?"
“Why would I buy you clothes?”
“Then why should I talk with you?"
Claudia rolled her eyes and said, "Just say what you need to say. I'LL leave if you don't have anything important to say. Don't shout stop behind my back. It's the weekend, and there are plenty of folks around. Someone might think I skipped out on a bill, and you're chasing me down to collect a debt!"
Everly's face turned a shade of livid blue. After a prolonged silence, she spat out, “My brother is getting married
“Okay, and then?"
Witnessing Claudia's nonchalant expression, Everly's rage intensified.
“You've been having an affair with Bennett for a while, haven't you? No surprise you were so quick to brush off my brother! Why do you pretend to be affectionate on the Internet?"
Had Everly left her brains at home today?
As Claudia had pointed out earlier, the weekend brought a bustling crowd to the mall.
As Everly's words escalated in absurdity, Claudia's eyes fell on a teacup resting on a nearby table. Marching over, she grabbed it and hurled the contents at Everly's face without a second thought.
“Ah! You! How could you splash me? How dare you!"
Claudia's icy stare met Everly's. "You're welcome! If you're still not thinking clearly, walk outside, turn right, cross the road, and jump into the river to wake yourself up! Try and speak badly of Bennett again, and next time it won't be tea, but sulfuric acid. Mark my words."
Everly had never encountered this side of Claudia and was instantly cowed.
Claudia's anger was unabated. Before departing, she even flung the empty paper cup toward Everly's filthy mouth!
Everly's words were so vile; her mouth ought to be stitched shut! Claudia stormed off so swiftly that even Aurora struggled to keep pace. Aurora's legs were shorter than Claudia's, after all!
Catching up to Claudia was a feat for Aurora. She reached out, grasping Claudia's arm. "Don't let it get to you! Everly's been Like this since day one! What pleasant words were you expecting?"
“But she was badmouthing about Bennett. I'm so angry!"
A realization dawned on Aurora.
“Something's wrong with you. Why does that comment make you so furious?"
“She wronged Bennett!"
“She also involved you when she made those vile comments!"
“That's why I'm angry!"
