Chapter: 412
“It doesn't seem right..."
“Wouldn't it be worse to mislead your father?"
Embarrassed, Claudia didn't know what to say.
“Okay, if you say so." At the worst, she resolved to save up slowly and reimburse him someday!
Bennett remained silent, while Claudia's hunger prevailed. She focused her attention on the food on her plate.
Claudia enjoyed savoring her food, taking small bites, and eating at a leisurely pace. In contrast, Bennett ate with quiet efficiency, finishing long before she did. She was only halfway through her meal when he was done.
This was no matter of concern. Different people simply had different eating speeds.
However, Bennett did not leave the table after finishing his meal. Instead, he sat there, watching her eat.
Naturally, Claudia wasn't self-absorbed enough to think Bennett's gaze was fixed on her because of her exquisite table manners. Perhaps he was just being courteous by waiting for her to finish.
Feeling a subtle pressure, she instinctively quickened her pace.
Upon taking her final bite, Claudia exhaled in relief. She looked across at Bennett and said, "I'm done."
"Alright."
Bennett responded, placing his phone in front of her. "My friend sent this to me earlier."
“What's this?"
Expecting to see a beautiful Landscape video, Claudia was surprised to find that the video was of her splashing Everly with water.
Following the splash, she was seen berating Everly.
She had certainly vented her frustration at the time by splashing water and scolding the woman, but now, viewing the recorded evidence, Claudia felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her.
Raising her head, she took a sip of water to feign calm, and then turned to the man across from her, admitting, "I'm sorry, Mr. Dreskin. My temper got the better of me."
She felt the need to explain herself further. "I'm not usually like this, truly."
It was rare for her to lash out at others, but Everly had been exceptionally irritating that day.
Everly said some unpleasant words, which pissed her off.
Yet, as Mrs. Dreskin, it was improper for her to publicly reprimand others.
Her lips pursed, Claudia bowed her head in sincere apology.
“I'm truly sorry. I promise not to act that way again."
