Chapter: 418
“Disobedient child!"
The moment Benico's anger flared, he felt a compulsion to break something. His fury, stoked by Bennett and Claudia, made him want to hurl objects on the tea table. Bennett's face remained impassive as he stated, "This villa is what my mother left to me. Everything inside it belongs to my mother, my wife, and me. You have no right to lay a finger on them. Furthermore, I don't believe my mother would want you in her villa. Please leave. If you need to talk to me in the future speak to me directly, and leave my wife alone."
Bennett paused before adding, "She only Listens to my words." Claudia, hearing this, agreed, "Yes, I only listen to him!"
“You! This is... I..."
Benico stammered, his entire body shaking with rage. His assistant rushed to his side, trying to soothe him. "Mr. Dreskin, please, settle down. Calm yourself!"
The assistant then turned to Bennett. "Mr. Dreskin, he's still your father. I don't believe your mother would approve of you treating him like this over someone unrelated."
“What right do you have to speak here? If my mother were still alive, she wouldn't Let you harass my wife!”
"Okay! Fine! This is what's gonna happen, boy! Starting tomorrow, you're no Longer president. I, Benico, disown a son like you!"
"I don't believe you have the final say in that matter."
“Well, I'll call a shareholders’ meeting tomorrow! We'll see how you manage to keep your position without my support! Let's Leave!"
With those words, Benico departed, seething with anger.
Watching Benico's retreating figure, clutching his cane, Claudia felt a pang of fear. She tugged at Bennett's clothes, voicing her concern. "Did we push too far? I saw his hands trembling with anger."
Bennett's eyes momentarily revealed an unfathomable emotion. He Looked down at her and reassured, “Don't worry. He's in good health.”
Claudia studied Bennett's face and sensed that deep down he too was worried about his father. How had the relationship between father and son come to this situation?
She wanted to asked him the question, but then she remembered her status as merely his contractual wife, and realized that her words would hold no sway anyway.
After Benico's departure, an odd tension hung in the air of the villa. Even Marcia, usually so lively and chatty, chose to take refuge in the kitchen, avoiding any inquiries about Lunch plans.
Claudia, glancing at Bennett, who had been seated quietly on the sofa, ventured to ask, “You don't have a busy schedule today?"
Hearing her words, Bennett slowly opened his eyes as he answered, “Not really. And what about you?"
The truth was, he had abruptly left a meeting to rush home, but he wouldn't tell her that.
“I'm not busy either."
They found themselves in an uncomfortable silence.
When Claudia noticed Bennett raising a hand to massage his temple, something clicked in her mind. "Are you having a headache?"
Bennett looked up, nodding. "Yes."
“Let me give you a massage then."
