Chapter: 434
“Of course, why not?”
“Would it be possible for me to borrow your phone for a call?"
The woman retrieved her phone and passed it over to Claudia.
Claudia expressed her gratitude. Initially, she planned to step aside and make the call, but after a moment's consideration, she realized that the kind woman had lent her the phone so willingly. How could she just dismiss her and make the call?
She wasn't trying to do anything shady after all.
With this in mind, she dialed her own number.
Simultaneously, a melodious piano tune emanated from the pocket of the man's suit on the second floor.
Breck was surprised since Bennett phone was usually on mute, and he was taken aback even more when he saw Bennett retrieve a phone with a white rabbit phone case from his pocket.
Since when did Bennett have a fondness for such adorable things? Breck's confusion was evident when he overheard Bennett answer the phone, saying, “Hello, I'm Bennett, Claudia's husband."
So, the phone belonged to Claudia?
Glancing at Bennett, Breck experienced an unexpected sensation of public affection.
He found himself at a loss for words.
"It's me," came a quivering female voice from the phone. Bennett's eyes narrowed as he inquired, “What's wrong?"
“Can we go home now?"
“Don't you and Miss Santiago seem Like old friends even though you just met?"
"Well, she's quite busy too. I won't impose any further."
Bennett chose not to challenge her dishonesty, replying instead, "I understand. Wait for me there. I'll come to you.”
“Okay, hurry here, please," Claudia concluded.
Upon hearing this, Bennett's heart began to pound rapidly.
After ending the call, he made his way downstairs, ignoring Breck's presence.
“Well... Where are you going?”
“To find my wife, and then go home," Bennett replied, pausing to glance back at Breck.
“Aren't you busy as well?"
"Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot that you don't have one," Bennett added, leaving Breck at a loss for words once more.
