Chapter: 443
But she wasn't excessively warm. She simply felt a bit restless and excited, preventing her from falling asleep.
She wasn't feeling unwell. She just had a slight thirst.
After tossing and turning, Claudia finally gave in to her thirst and ventured downstairs for water.
Surprisingly, just before she reached the kitchen island, she spotted Bennett, also drinking water there.
The man had taken a shower and put on loose pajamas. Seated on a high stool, his right leg was bent while his left leg stretched out in a relaxed manner.
He spotted her and asked, "Still feeling hot?"
Claudia nodded, grabbed a glass of water, and drank it down, only to find Bennett's gaze fixed on her.
They exchanged no words, only the sound of breathing filling the quiet room.
Eventually, she broke the silence.
“Mr. Dreskin, is such punch typically strong?"
While her tolerance for alcohol wasn't great, it wasn't terribly poor either.
“No," he replied.
Claudia touched her face.
“I'm not that bad with alcohol,” she stated, glancing at him. "Mr. Dreskin, could someone have tampered with the drink?"
She felt Like something was off with herself!
She looked at Bennett with a crazy thought in her mind. She wanted to kiss him.
What a reckless thought!
Bennett set down his glass, leaned in, and placed a large hand on her forehead.
“You're not that warm," he said, his finger brushing her cheek.
“Are you feeling hot?"
She stared at him, lost, and nodded.
"Do you feel ill?"
"I don't feel ill, but..."
She struggled to articulate her feelings.
