Chapter: 456
After all, they shared the same Living space. Was it really appropriate for her to be so indifferent to his bad mood?

Memories of Bennett taking her to the hospital after she'd accidentally ingested a spiked drink filled her mind.

After a brief inner struggle, Claudia grabbed a few candies from her room and headed downstairs.

It was her first time on the basement level, an entertainment hub with a mahjong table, billiards, and other leisure activities.

Bennett was nowhere to be found.

“If he's not here, he must be in the second basement," she murmured. Descending to the next floor, Claudia found the wine cellar, and Bennett was there, seated on the floor, drinking heavily.

He was Leaning against the wine cabinet, carelessly balancing a bottle on his crooked leg, drinking as if quenching his thirst.

Claudia observed him for a moment before cautiously approaching.

“Mr. Dreskin?"

He Looked up, anger still evident in his eyes.

“Do you want to drink?" It was the first time Claudia had seen Bennett this way. Although she was about to refuse, she finally agreed, “Okay.”

Without hesitation, she joined him.

Bennett finished his glass and offered it to her, asking, "Do you mind?"

Initially confused, Claudia soon understood and replied, "I don't mind."

To object now would bruise his pride.

He poured her a half glass of red wine, clinked her glass with the bottle, and downed his drink.

Claudia took a careful sip, her gaze fixed on him, unsure of how to offer comfort.

Her inexperience was glaring, and the man before her was Bennett. Conventional words of consolation would not suffice.

As she hesitated, wondering if she should offer him the candies, Bennett had already emptied his bottle of wine.

He rose to his feet, retrieving another bottle of wine from the upper shelf of the wine cabinet.

As he reached for the corkscrew, Claudia couldn't resist asking, "Mr. Dreskin, would you care for some candy?" The man halted his efforts to open the bottle and turned to regard her.

With a graceful stretch of her right hand, Claudia opened her palm, showcasing the three pieces of mango-flavored candy nestled there. "The wine may disappoint, but these candies promise sweetness.”

Bennett lowered his gaze, lost in thought.

He then set down the corkscrew and returned the unopened bottle of wine to its place.
