Chapter: 466
Before long, Claudia witnessed him descending the stairs, fully dressed.
“Have a safe trip, Mr. Dreskin."
Claudia Lifted her hand and gave it a wave. Bennett cast a glance her way and responded with a composed "okay" before taking his leave. Soon, the sound of a car engine reached Claudia's ears.
She pursed her Lips, turned, and made her way upstairs to the piano room.
Mathews' concert was only a week away. She needed to master the music without delay.
It was such a prestigious event. She couldn't really bring the music sheet on stage, could she?
How inappropriate!
But her mind refused to cooperate as she practiced. Though her eyes scanned the music sheet, her thoughts were elsewhere.
After her seventh mistake, she finally gave up. Bennett's words, "Don't overstep the boundary," were still echoing in her mind.
Depressed, Claudia closed the piano lid and lay prone on it for a moment.
Finally, she picked up her phone, deciding to consult her single but experienced friend Aurora. She sent a depressed emoji.
Aurora, having just finished work, responded promptly to Claudia's message. "What's wrong, baby? This emoji doesn't fit the blissful life you're living after marriage."
Embarrassed, Claudia stumbled over her words. "I'm tangled up in something."
Aurora's reply was quick.
“What's got you so entangled? Share with me, and I'll help you sort it out!"
Claudia started to explain the dream she had from the previous night, but then deleted the message. After some hesitation, she asked directly, "Do you think Bennett could ever like someone Like me?"
Aurora's understanding was immediate.
“Have you fallen for him?" she asked, causing Claudia to falter.
Aurora reassured her friend. "It's natural. I'd fall for him too if I were you! You like him, so what's the problem? Even though your marriage is merely a deal, you're still legally Mrs. Dreskin! And he's not attached. How do you know he won't like you? You're smart, beautiful, and talented. Maybe he's already fallen for you! If you like him, just go for it! It's not a big deal! This is your chance to make him yours, so don't let it pass you by."
Claudia's response was full of uncertainty.
“Last night, I dreamed that Bennett told me not to overstep the boundary.
Aurora said, "It's only a dream! I often dream of winning a huge lottery. Does that mean I win in real Life?"
Amused, Claudia agreed. "You have a point." Aurora urged, “Enough of that! Make him yours no\
Claudia was silent for a moment before saying, “I'm at a loss on how to win him over."
