Chapter: 467
While she had pursued Anthony in the past, she and Anthony had grown up as childhood friends. To be frank, she had never really put in much effort.
No sooner had Claudia sent the message than she was flooded with Links from Aurora.
With a sense of urgency, she clicked on each one, absorbing information on subjects Like “how to win a man's heart,"
“strategies for a woman to pursue a man,"
“how a woman can successfully win a man over," and “methods to attract an aloof man."
Again, Claudia found herself without words, but a feeling of deep gratitude filled her. Nonetheless, she was thankful to her friend's support.
Aurora's suggestion wasn't exactly ludicrous, yet it wasn't particularly commendable either.
Nonetheless, Claudia recognized her friend's good intentions; but still, she had her own worries.
For women, chasing a man might generally be a simple task, but at times it could prove incredibly challenging.
Moreover, she had coerced Bennett into marriage, using the car accident as a leverage, dragging him into her life. They were supposed to be just partners, but now she nurtured secret desires.
If Bennett discovered her feelings for him, he would surely deem her contemptible, wouldn't he?
She... She didn't want to appear so degraded in his eyes.
Even if her heart longed to pursue him, she had to at least await the contract's conclusion.
Claudia resolved herself to this and put the thought aside.
Marcia approached her about Lunch, catching Claudia off guard. She hadn't realized she'd been lost in thought all morning, having spent the entire three hours musing over Bennett.
The man truly had a way of affecting her productivity! After lunch, forgoing her usual nap, Claudia spent the whole afternoon practicing piano in the piano room.
Upon his return, Bennett found her on the sofa, massaging her aching fingers just as she had the day before.
Today was different, though. Bennett hadn't returned early, there was no heavy rain outside, and she definitely couldn't stay calm to observe his arrival.
Her heartbeat quickened, guilt flooding her as she rubbed her fingers more vigorously.
Bennett, loosening his tie, noticed her vigorous rubbing. "Do your fingers not obey you?"
"What?" Claudia replied, confused, Looking up at him.
Following his gaze, she realized she'd been too harsh, her right hand turning red. Blushing, she admitted, "My fingers are sore. Rubbing them like this helps."
In fact, it did nothing to alleviate her pain and was slightly agonizing.
But she couldn't admit her distraction was due to his presence, could she?
