Chapter: 484
“How could that be? This is your home!"
"So this isn't your home, then?"
Claudia sensed his anger
Indeed, he had reason to be upset. She was with a public figure Like Mathews in the same car. If they were caught on camera, there would be consequences.
She bit her Lip, saying, “Sorry, I made a mistake."
Sincerity was her only weapon now. As for the rest, she'd explain later.
Bennett glanced at the lingering black SUV, and then took Claudia's hand. "Well, as Long as you recognize your mistake."
Claudia looked at her hand in his, her heart pounding.
Was it really so easy to appease him?
Before Bennett spun around, he shot one last glance at the SUV.
Taking Claudia's hand, he guided her into the villa.
Inside the SUV, Wesley looked back at Mathews, seated in the back, and exclaimed, "Do you think quite highly of yourself? Turns out her husband is right here waiting!"
Looking at the retreating figures of the man and woman through the tinted window, Mathews erased the smile from his face.
Only when Claudia and Bennett vanished into the villa's doorway did he shift his gaze, glancing into the rearview mirror. "You Like talking?"
Wesley remained silent for a second, stunned. "You were so unbelievable!"
All Claudia could ponder was the sensation of her hand in Bennett's. Upon entering the villa, he released her hand, and she instinctively looked up at him.
He was also gazing at her, his dark eyes Lingering on her face. "Didn't you say you didn't go see handsome men tonight?"
Feeling bashful, Claudia replied, "We really didn't go see handsome men..."
He gazed at her, inquiring, "Mathews is handsome, isn't he?"
"Well, he's not bad indeed,” she replied.
“You went to see the handsome guy then.”
The words were not a question but rather a declaration.
She'd gone to the bar and met Mathews, a good-looking man, so she'd gone to see handsome guys?
His words seemed twisted, but she couldn't tell what was wrong. Eventually, Claudia found herself swayed by Bennett's impeccable reasoning.
