Chapter: 496
Claudia pursed her lips and said, "I will stay here and wait for the doctor. Go and catch your plane."
“Okay, let me know if anything comes up."
Bennett took a lingering glance at her before heading out.
As he did, he happened to meet with Marcia, who was on her way to prepare breakfast.
Spotting Bennett, Marcia instinctively stepped aside to let him walk by before she proceeded into the villa.
This wasn't the first time she had been in this situation. Usually, Bennett would walk right past her.
Being distant and not fond of unfamiliar faces was Bennett's nature. Marcia was used to it and didn't take offense.
At least she could turn to Claudia, who was always approachable.
But today, things took a twist. As Marcia moved on, Bennett halted beside her and said, “Marcia.”
Marcia felt a jolt hearing Bennett call her like that for the first time. Nervously, she asked, “What do you need, Mr. Dreskin?"
“Mrs. Dreskin has injured her knee. Keep an eye on her. Our doctor will arrive soon."
Marcia nodded and said, “Okay, I understand."
With a nod, Bennett departed.
Bennett's words made Marcia anxious as well. When she noticed Bennett leaving, she swiftly spun around and hurried into the villa.
The moment Marcia stepped inside the villa, her eyes caught Claudia sitting on the sofa. She noticed the swollen part on Claudia's knees right before Claudia pulled down her pants.
"Oh my God! Mrs. Dreskin, how did you get hurt? What happened?”
Marcia approached but hesitated to touch Claudia.
With a blush, Claudia met Marcia's eyes and said, "I just took an awkward accident."
Really, it wasn't that big of a deal. She could still stand on her feet, couldn't she?
“We mustn't ignore it, though. Mr. Dreskin informed me a doctor will be over shortly. Mrs. Dreskin, please remain seated and refrain from moving. What if it's a fracture and moving makes it worse?"
The fact that Bennett, who rarely spoke to their housekeeper, had shown such concern caught Claudia off guard.
She glanced down at her knee, observing the bruises. Then, she gently lifted her hand to touch them. It stung a bit, but a warm feeling blossomed inside her.
Oh, Claudia, you really fall in love with him. She thought.
“Mrs. Dreskin, you haven't had your breakfast yet, have you?"
