Chapter: 565
Claudia was slightly taken aback. "Yes, but how did you know?"

She felt embarrassed after admitting it so readily.

He regarded her with his deep eyes and disclosed, “It tastes distinct from Marcia's cooking.”

Upon hearing this, Claudia's grip on the fork tightened. She attempted to preserve some semblance of pride as she smiled, “I'm not skilled in the kitchen. It's not as delectable as Marcia's cooking."

"oh?"

Sampling the fish, he remarked casually, “Mrs. Dreskin, your culinary creations suit my palate quite well."

“Really?”

Had he said that merely to flatter her?

"I'm not flattering you."

Blushing, Claudia responded, “Well, I appreciate your kind words."

How had Bennett managed to discern her thoughts?

“The gratitude should come from me."

“Why?" Claudia inquired, puzzled.

She had given him the cold shoulder the previous days. Although it had been a one-sided silent feud, he seemed entirely oblivious.

However, considering the fact that he has waited for an hour and a half for her right after recovering from a fever, Claudia couldn't help but feel utterly embarrassed - she was such a terrible person!

“If you hadn't shown up today at noon with lunch, I might be dealing with a stomachache this afternoon."

Bennett's digestion was sensitive; this detail had been shared in the document his secretary had provided her earlier.

"Tees Bennett gave an approving nod.

“We have a cook at home. You can have Marcia cook next time you wanna drop by. You don’t have to cook yourself."

I just wanted to cook today, so..."

After a brief pause, he added, “However, it's expected for the chairman's wife to bring lunch to him, don’t you think?"

Claudia contemplated saying whether it was a good idea but his words made her realize she had underestimated matters.

Not all public displays of affection needed to be so overt!

Constant flaunting of their relationship in public could lead people to question their intentions.
