Kristy quickly looked up Kayla‘s phone number and dialed it. However, no matter how many times she tried, Kayla didn't answer.

Kayla obviously blacklisted her phone number so that she couldn't reach her.

Kayla actually dared to backstab her Like this. Kristy gnashed her teeth together. She would make Kayla pay for crossing her sooner or later.

Meanwhile, Kayla sat by the French window in her Living room. She was leaning against the glass and staring at the view outside. She had her phone pressed against her ear. She lowered her head, beamed, and said to the person she was talking to, "Mom, do you think Bennett is being stupid?"

“When you have this matter sorted out and the Marshall woman gets discredited as a result, it won't matter whatever Bennett is being. One way or another, their marriage will be destroyed, and it won't matter as well then whether or not they're just pretending to Love each other. And then you will have your chance to get close to Bennett.”

Kayla reached out and ran her finger down the glass. She answered, “Bennett is a very suspicious and discreet man. Don't you think he will eventually figure out that I tried to delay him on his way to see Claudia at Kristy and Anthony's engagement party?”

She paused for a while and then added, “In that case, I'd better take advantage of the situation and do Bennett a favor." If she did Bennett a favor, would he still be cold to her?

“You are right, Kayla! Oh, my daughter is such a brilliant young Lady! Bennett is indeed a very cautious and distrustful man. It's difficult to guarantee that he won't find out that you had a hand in the matter if you really worked with Kristy. However, throwing her under the bus may just be the escape hatch that you need."

Raising her eyebrows proudly, Kayla said, “Don't worry, Mom. Bennett won't escape from my control.”

“Then I'll wait for your good news, dear."

“And I'll deliver it to you soon."

Sooner rather than later, she would win Bennett's affection.

After hanging up with her mother, Kayla walked to the sofa and pulled up her phone's browser. She looked up Claudia.

“Wow, Claudia is really something."

Kayla just wondered if Claudia's brain was as good as her fingers when playing the piano.

Kayla grinned, her calculating eyes full of excitement.

She must get Claudia out of the way and take Bennett away from her.

After taking a short nap, Claudia changed into a sports suit and applied some Light makeup.

While she was deciding whether or not to wear a hat as well, Bennett knocked on her door.

Claudia hastily tossed the hat aside and opened the door for Bennett. Bennett now had on a more relaxed ensemble. He asked, "Are you ready?” Feeling a bit embarrassed under his gaze, Claudia bit her lip and nodded, "I am."

This was her first time going to a race course and riding a horse, and she wasn't sure if her outfit was appropriate.
