Chapter: 591
"Is my outfit okay?" she asked.
“It is."
Bennett glanced at her clothes and then shifted his gaze back to her eyes. He added, "You Look great, actually."
Claudia breathed a sigh of relief and replied, "Oh, thank you. I'm ready to go now. Are your friends already at the race course?”
“No, they haven't arrived there yet."
However, Breck and the guys were really already at the race course. Bennett just Lied to Claudia so that she wouldn't be worried. He calmly asked, “Have you put on sunscreen?"
Claudia nodded, "Yes."
She didn't expect him to know about sunscreen as well.
“It's hot outside. Do you have a hat?"
Claudia had actually been considering whether or not to wear a hat. Hearing Bennett's question, she turned around and grabbed and put on the baseball cap she was trying on earlier. She said, "Yes."
Bennett beamed at her, “Great. Let's go."
“Okay.”
Claudia was looking forward to this afternoon's activity. After all, it was going to be her first horseback-riding experience.
The race course was located in the suburbs. When Bennett and Claudia arrived, it was already three o'clock in the afternoon. Breck, Grover, and Duncan were already there.
Walking hand-in-hand with Bennett, Claudia swallowed her lips and prayed fervently that she hadn't turned as red as a tomato.
“You are one busy man, Mr. Dreskin," Breck teased.
Bennett didn't even spare him a glance as he introduced Claudia to Grover and Duncan.
Then, he deliberately asked, "Didn't you guys say that you were bringing female companions? Where are your female companions?”
“What? When did we say that?" Breck said in shock.
Bennett looked at Duncan and shifted the blame on him without batting an eye. "Duncan said it. You can check the group chat messages."
Duncan was caught off-guard by Bennett's stare. He reluctantly owned up to the matter, saying, “Yeah, I did say that in the group chat."
Breck took out his phone and scrolled through the group chat messages. He said, "Really? Why didn't I see that? Did you guys create another group chat without me in it?"
“Maybe Duncan kicked you out of the group chat that day," Bennett suggested.
Duncan was speechless.
