Chapter: 596
She breathed a sigh of relief and Looked back at Bennett. "Okay, Mr. Dreskin. I think you can teach me now. I‘m no longer that nervous.”
He had carried her before, so being this close to him right now shouldn't be a big deal.
Although she was thinking like this, Claudia's ears still turned red. Bennett was a good teacher. He was serious and meticulous. Unfortunately, Claudia was destined to be a bad student. She was distracted the entire time.
She wanted to listen carefully and take in Bennett's riding lessons, but the two of them were just too close to each other at the moment, making it a chore for Claudia to concentrate.
It was summer and hot out, so the two of them both wore Light clothes. With every movement Bennett made, Claudia could feel his tight abdominal muscles shift against her.
And all their Limbs were so close together, they might as well just get entangled.
ALL these things were enough to divert Claudia‘s attention.
Then, while Claudia was considering telling Bennett that he should go ride with Breck, Grover, and Duncan, someone approached them on a white horse.
‘ownsend. What a coincidence."
“Townsend? Who is Townsend? Is he his friend?" She muttered to herself in surprise.
Dissatisfaction flashed in Bennett's dark eyes when he saw Kayla. Still, because he didn't want to be rude, he said, “Cece, this is Kayla Bryant. She's the daughter of one of my mother’s friends.”
“Kayla, this is my wife, Claudia."
“Nice to meet you, Miss Bryant." Claudia snapped back to her senses and smiled at Kayla.
Kayla glanced at her and said, "Please, do call me Kayla. I hope I didn't scare you rushing over Like this.”
Then, she looked at Bennett again and said, “I'LL Leave you to your ride. I won't disturb you anymore."
After saying that, Kayla kicked her white horse and rode away.
Claudia stared after her and wondered why she called Bennett "Townsend". Could it be that was his middle name or something? Thinking of this, she couldn't help feeling a horrible pang of jealousy. She felt as if someone cut her heart and then squeezed a Lemon on it.
She didn't know whether or not she was just thinking too much, but still, she felt that Kayla approached them and called Bennett by a different name on purpose.
Trying to suppress her jealousy, Claudia pressed her Lips together in a thin Line. Then, she forced herself to say, “Miss Bryant is really good at riding."
“Not really."
Hearing Bennett's words, Claudia suddenly felt a whole lot better.
Then, she Looked in the direction Kayla took. She didn't see it clearly earlier, but now that she was watching carefully, she realized that Bennett was right. Kayla's riding was only mediocre.
Bennett, who was a great rider, said it himself.
However, Claudia still felt a little bitter.
