Chapter: 606
She'd better find out the truth.
He would like to see if Kristy would dare to have designs on his woman next time.
“Very well, Mr. Dreskin After hanging up with his boss, Jackson couldn't help admiring his own judgment.
If the matter was about something else, he certainly wouldn't have bothered Bennett on a beautiful weekend evening.
But this wasn't something trivial. It involved Mrs. Dreskin.
Since he realized it last time, Jackson had been following the principle, "Whenever it comes to Mrs. Dreskin, I have to think in a reverse way." Now, he had successfully guessed Bennett's decision.
Sure enough, his boss just wanted to warn Kristy. Well, as Bennett's assistant, he was clearly getting better and better. Jackson felt so proud of himself!
Claudia ran back to her room and then got ready for bed. Bennett's ambiguous words and tone frightened her so much that she ended up having trouble falling asleep.
After locking her door, she picked up her phone and sent Aurora a message.
“Aurora? Are you there? Answer me, please!”
Aurora, who had just stepped out of the shower, read Claudia's message and replied, “Hey, I'm here. What's wrong? Why are you so jumpy tonight?
Did the horseback riding get you all fired up?"
Claudia touched her hot cheek and quickly texted her best friend, "I just slipped in front of Bennett! I had to make up a story about ‘a friend of mine’ just to cover my butt!”
Aurora was good at finding the key point. She asked, “Slipped? What do you mean?"
After thinking about how to explain it for a while, Claudia briefly told Aurora what happened. Then, she asked, "Well... Don't you think what Bennett said is a little strange?"
Aurora said, "Don't you think he's dropping hints?"
Claudia asked, "What do you mean? I didn't expose myself! I mean, he thought I was stupid to chase after Anthony, but..."
After a pause, Claudia continued, "Well, I agree with him."
Aurora, who originally thought that her best friend finally figured things out, didn't know what to say. Then, she wrote, “Yeah. You are right to say that."
She suddenly began to sympathize with Bennett.
He was a wealthy, powerful man, yet he was stuck with a Little clueless fool like Claudia.
Aurora tried to help Bennett, “Don't you think Mr. Dreskin was hinting at you?"
Confused, Claudia asked, "Hinting what at me? Do you think he knows that I was actually referring to myself when I told him about ‘my friend'?"
Aurora replied, "It's not impossible. I'm sure Mr. Dreskin isn't that dense. Surely he can read between the Lines."
