Chapter: 612
She was a bit bloated.

Claudia hurriedly grabbed her husband's hand and removed it from her midsection. She said all too quickly, “It doesn't hurt anymore."

Could he not touch her like that?

Bennett looked at her with a faint smile and asked curiously, "Didn't you say moments ago that you were feeling unwell?”

“I feel fine now."

He was close enough to her now for her to smell his lovely woodsy fragrance.

Claudia looked away, but incidentally, she noticed a small red mark on Bennett's collar.

The red color was very light and couldn't be seen if one didn't pay much attention to it.

She reached out, took a closer look at the mark, and asked, "What's this?"

Bennett lowered his head and looked at what Claudia was pointing at. When he saw the red mark, he frowned and said, “If I say I don't know, will you believe me?"

"Do you think I will?"

He said that he didn't know that his collar was stained with Lipstick. And whoever believed him was a fool.

Bennett stared at her for a while and asked, “Are you really feeling okay now?"

“Are you trying to change the subject?"

Claudia blinked. She felt disappointed.

It seemed that every time she fell for someone, she always ended up being let down. Suddenly feeling like she shouldn't be all that surprised, Claudia averted her gaze. She murmured, “Fine. I lied to you just now. I didn't need to go to the hospital because I didn't have a stomachache."

Speaking of this, she bit her Lower Lip and continued, “If you want to give Miss Bryant a ride, it's not too late to come back for her. I'll just take a taxi..."

Claudia began making her way out of the car, but all of a sudden, Bennett stopped her with a kiss.

It was a light peck, but she stared blankly at him. He stared fondly back at her as he said, "Don't say those words. I don't want to hear them.”

“What do you want to hear then?" Claudia retorted, confused by his gesture.

“Things about you."

He took a look at her, took out his phone, and then made a phone call. Then, he closed the passenger-side door and went to the driver's seat.

As soon as Bennett got in the car, the Line connected. He put his phone on speaker and said, “It's me, Bennett."

“Townsend? This is a nice surprise. Why have you called? Is Miss Marshall okay?”
