Chapter: 629
Drawing a thin quilt to cover her, he continued, "Are you apprehensive that I might seek intimacy with you?"
Her response was silence.
Claudia lay there rigidly, immobilized by fear.
Embracing her, Bennett reassured her, “Rest assured, I have no such intentions for tonight."
"In that case... what about tomorrow night?"
Claudia asked, instantly regretting her question.
Bennett clicked his tongue and grinned.
“So you want it to be tomorrow night?"
“No, no, please don't misunderstand. I was merely asking."
Enveloped in Bennett's embrace, Claudia found herself cocooned in his presence, his breath a refreshing breeze.
She attempted to extricate herself from his hold but proved unsuccessful. Accidentally, her knee bumped into Bennett.
Upon realizing her accidental contact, she stammered, "I-I apologize. It wasn't intentional."
Truly, she hadn't meant it!
“Don't move, baby," The man's deep and mellow voice rang in her ears. Claudia was Like being thrown into a steamer, wet and hot.
"I... I won't move," she obediently lowered her hand, ceasing all motion.
After a night of restlessness, Claudia grew increasingly drowsy.
In the still darkness, the room enveloped them in a serene quietude, their synchronized breaths the sole audible sound.
With her back pressed against Bennett's chest, she could discern the steady rhythm of his heart.
Oh, how had this situation come to pass?
Claudia wasn't accustomed to sleeping on her side. Desiring to change her position but dreading to rouse Bennett, she shifted cautiously.
As she transitioned from lying on her side to her back, Bennett suddenly spoke up.
“Weren't you feeling sleepy?”
“I... I simply wish to adjust my position," Claudia softly confessed. Bennett maintained his silence. Claudia, then, turned onto her side again, only to discover that this posture felt even more peculiar because she now faced Bennett!
What if she were to flip over and lay with her back to him?
