Chapter: 67
“I'm capable of walking.”

Bennett's gaze fell to hers, his intentions clear. He didn't plan on setting her down. "I've held you before. No need to be shy."

Immediately after his words left his Lips, Bennett swiftly scooped Claudia up and carried her to the Living room on the first floor.

The entire living room exuded a sense of spaciousness, adorned with silver-colored decorations.

He gently placed her on the couch. As he bent down, his collar slipped a bit, revealing a peek of his toned abs.

Claudia's eyes widened at the sight of his impressive physique.

“What would you Like to drink?"

“Whatever's fine."

Without a word, Bennett retreated to the kitchen, reappearing shortly with a glass of juice and a glass of ice water

He placed the juice before her and picked up the TV remote. “Feel free to choose something to watch. I've got a call to take,” he said before retrieving his phone and stepping outside.

“What's the matter?"

His friend Breck Santos was on the other end. Bennett took a sip of his iced water, his gaze drifting back to the living room where Claudia sat, viewable through the French windows.

“Aren't we supposed to be partying at the bar tonight?"

“I must've forgotten. You guys go on without me," he replied before ending the call.

As he took another sip of water, his phone vibrated once more.

This time, it was a message in the group chat.

Duncan Foster had tagged him. "You sure you're not joining us tonight?"

“Busy tonight,”

Bennett texted back.

Breck inquired with curiosity, “You must be lying. I heard Zavier introduced a stunning woman to you at the dinner tonight. What does she look Like?"

A coldness entered Bennett's gaze at this. He let out a derisive huff and began typing on his phone. “I've got an early morning. Need to accompany my wife to her doctor's appointment."

Following that, Bennett ceased paying attention to the messages in the group chat.
