Chapter: 708
Claudia initially wanted to ignore him, but after a few seconds, she turned around and looked at him with a hint of grievance. "Where have you been?"
“Are you uncomfortabl
Bennett gently drew her into his arms and slid his hand down her pajama pants, resting it on her exposed belly.
Claudia's instinct was to resist. "Please, don't..."
“Your stomach is so cold," Bennett said, surprised.
“Your hand is so warm," Claudia replied, feeling comforted.
Despite the summer season, Claudia often experienced cold hands and feet during her period, and her belly felt even chillier.
Bennett's palm offered a comforting warmth. It felt soothing when he held it on her belly.
She had initially contemplated stopping him, but the pleasant sensation prompted her to put her hand down.
She was about to ask him again where he had gone when the warmth from his hand suddenly dissipated.
Claudia was stunned when he moved his hand away. Why would he do that? Didn't he care about her?
Bennett reached over and retrieved the cup from the bedside table.
“Here, drink some brown sugar and ginger tea. It will soothe your stomach."
Bennett held the cup out to her. Although he made it a little while ago, it was still hot. "Be careful you don't burn yourself."
Claudia blinked in surprise as she looked at him. Suddenly, she realized how irrational she was being and felt a pang of guilt. After all, he made the tea for her, held the hot cup for her and offered the handle to prevent her from burning her hand. His sweet gesture softened her heart and made her question why she even doubted his love for her.
She swiftly took the cup, concerned that he might scald himself. The cup felt hot, and she felt like checking Bennett's palm to see if he had hurt himself.
But she was too weak to hold the cup of ginger tea with just one hand. Lowering her head, she blew on the hot beverage before having a sip. As she savored the warmth of the tea, she felt Bennett's warm hand on her belly again.
Looking up at Bennett, she asked, "How do you know all of this?"
She was amazed that he had bought the correct sanitary napkins for nighttime use and also knew about the benefits of ginger tea with brown sugar for period cramps.
Claudia felt comforted and touched by Bennett's thoughtfulness. However, she wondered if he had learned all these things from taking care of other women in the past. A tinge of jealousy began to well inside her at the thought.
As Claudia sipped the hot tea, her mind wandered to the conversation with Kayla about Bennett's first Love. Suddenly, a heaviness settled in her chest, and the steam from the tea made her eyes sting and water.
She also realized she was probably overthinking and making a mountain out of a molehill. Claudia knew that her doubts were unfounded and causing unnecessary trouble for herself. She took a deep breath and tried to push the negative thoughts out of her mind.
Taking a sip, Claudia blinked back the tears and tried to sound casual.
“You seem to know a lot about what women need during menstruation, don't you?"
