Chapter: 712
Bennett took note of her pale lips as he helped her sit up before gathering her in his arms. "No, I came back after the meeting." Claudia's brows knitted together.
“You didn't have to. I'm fine. I'm just on my period."
Even though she said that, a faint smile crept onto her face.
"It's okay. I have no particularly pressing matter to attend to at the company today anyway."
Bennett pulled her close so that her back was pressed against his chest. He then flattened his hand on her abdomen.
Claudia reached out to stop him but immediately retracted her hand.
He was her husband. There was nothing wrong with him touching her abdomen.
It was not against the law.
Claudia certainly did not have a problem with it.
For a full week, she relished the feeling of Bennett's hand on her abdomen. Truthfully, the cramps had disappeared by the fourth day of her period, but his warm hand made her feel inexplicably comfortable, so she decided to be a bit cunning and did not tell him that she was no longer in pain.
Claudia felt much better after her menstruation ended.
Upon learning that she was no longer suffering from her period, Aurora invited her out to dinner.
Bennett went on a business trip the day before. So, that day, Claudia gave Marcia the afternoon off.
Claudia was extremely pleased that she was not experiencing pain anymore. She was only having dinner with Aurora, but she still put makeup on and donned a nice dress
Aurora put in extra hours from Monday to Thursday this week. On Friday, as soon as office hours were over, she grabbed her bag and left the company building.
She'd had enough of working overtime.
She was done with it.
From then on, she would not do extra shifts anymore.
They agreed to meet at a nice restaurant Aurora had been meaning to visit for quite some time now. Claudia, who had nothing to do before their meeting time, arrived early to secure a seat by the window, which was otherwise difficult to reserve.
When Claudia arrived, she noticed that there were private rooms available on the upper floor, but they were too expensive. The girls didn't think it was worth it since they were served the same food, so they tried to avoid wasteful expenditures as much as possible.
Besides, the seat by the window was a good spot as well. Outside, two ducks floated in the artificial river, which was flanked by orderly rows of willow trees.
Aurora, who arrived sooner than Claudia had expected, asked, "What are you looking at? Is the view outside beautiful?"
When she walked in, she saw Claudia staring out the window. Aurora took a seat across from her and grabbed the glass of water on the table. She turned to the window and exclaimed, "Oh, there are geese!"
“I think they're just ducks," Claudia remarked.
