Chapter: 717
Claudia blurted out, "It's for you, of course!"
Was he not the man she married?
She grabbed his Left hand and slipped the ring on his ring finger.
Once she had placed it on, she twisted it. The ring fit his finger a little loosely. It was not particularly secure, but it would not come off if he as much as moved his hand.
Claudia smiled as she examined the ring on the man's finger and commented, “It Looks good on you better than I thought."
She then gazed up at him like a cat expecting a pat on the head. Bennett raised his hand to touch the ring. The light caught his thick eyelashes and created a dark circle around his eyes.
Claudia could not make out the expression on his face because he suddenly lowered his head. Immediately, nervousness rose within her.
“Y-you don't Like it?"
She returned her attention to the ring on his finger.
It looked really plain. Now that she thought about it, it was indeed a bit insulting for someone like Bennett to wear something so inexpensive.
Claudia's heart sank as she bit her lip and whispered, "Forget it. These rings aren't really pretty.."
She moved to take the ring off his finger, but Bennett grabbed her wrist.
When she looked up to him to meet his ebony orbs, something squeezed her heart.
“What's wrong?”
Instead of answering her question, Bennett pulled her to stand up, and then wrapped an arm around her waist to draw her close to him,
Using his free hand, he raised her chin and kissed her on the lips. He then muttered in a hoarse voice, “Why did you suddenly buy me a ring?"
Claudia's heart was hammering in her chest as she replied, “I thought it looked nice, so I bought it."
“Is that so?"
Bennett bent down to kiss her again, deeply this time. Soon, Claudia's senses could detect nothing but the man's presence.
She closed her eyes, her lashes fluttering like butterfly wings under the light.
They parted for a moment, only to kiss again like they were on their wedding night. Then again, the two of them had just gotten married recently, so they were technically still in their honeymoon phase.
Claudia felt Like she was a Lone boat amidst the crashing waves of the man's overwhelming affection.
Eventually, Bennett let go of her lips and pulled her into an embrace. Claudia, panting heavily, leaned against his chest, her mind blissfully blank.
"I Like it very much. Thank you, Mrs. Dreskin.”
