Chapter: 716
They took separate taxis and chatted on the phone on their way home.

After twenty minutes, Claudia returned to her house first.

Feeling a little sleepy, she sent a message to Aurora as she got off the car, saying, "I'm home. I'll go take a shower. Message me once you get home."

Aurora responded with an OK hand emoji.

When Claudia went to change her shoes at the doorway, she noticed that a pair of shoes similar to the ones Bennett wore frequently were displayed on the shoe cabinet.

She frowned.

She did not give it much thought, though. Bennett possessed an excessive number of shoes, all of which were nearly identical in design. Those were not the only ones he wore most of the time.

Claudia slipped her feet into a pair comfortable indoor slippers and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. She then settled on a high stool at the kitchen island and drank water slowly.

Bennett walked into the kitchen and found Claudia staring into space. She had a glass in her hand, and her lips were pressed to its rim. He wondered what she was thinking about. She did not seem to notice his presence.

Even when Bennett walked up to her and stopped a few inches behind her, Claudia still did not react. Bennett smiled.

After a while, she snapped out of her trance and started rummaging through her bag.

Soon, she fished out a ring box.

She opened it, revealing a pair of plain-looking couple rings.

Before the movie started, she and Aurora decided to wander around for a while. That was how they stumbled upon the rings in a jewelry store. It was Aurora who urged her to try the women's ring on. She claimed that Claudia did not Look Like a married woman because she was not wearing a ring.

Claudia dared not wear the ring Bennett had purchased for her because it was too valuable. If she Lost the million-dollar ring, she would be devastated.

At that time, although they got married, their union was just for show. She had yet to develop feelings for Bennett, so she did not care much about whether she was wearing a ring or not.

Then, Aurora's words tonight made her recall Bennett's ring-free ring finger and her encounter with Kayla earlier. She tried the women's ring on and liked it, so she immediately bought the pair

It was not an expensive purchase, and she really Liked the simply yet elegant design.

Claudia rested her chin on her hand as she examined the rings. "I feel like the other one is a Little small."

Right after she finished speaking, a familiar voice suggested, “Why don't you let me try it on? You'll know if it fits, then."

Upon hearing the voice, Claudia let out a startled gasp.

Surprised, Claudia turned to Bennett, who had been standing behind her for a couple of minutes, and stammered, “W-when did you come back?"

“Half an hour earlier than you did."

Bennett glanced at the men's ring on the ring box and asked, “Who did you buy that for, Mrs. Dreskin?"
