Chapter: 722
Claudia froze.

It turned out that it was she who told him that.

She pursed her Lips and harrumphed. "It's not Like that."

“No? The boy just gave you some mango-flavored candy, but you already fell for him. Do you still miss him, Mrs. Dreskin?"

Claudia did not know how to respond to that.

Someone save her. She might pass out from all the nervousness she was feeling.

As if on cue, the doorbell suddenly rang.

It was the most pleasant sound Claudia had ever heard.

“There's someone at the door! It must be Dad's gift for me!"

She got up from the dresser, gave Bennett a quick glance, and said, “I'LL go and get it." With that, she bolted out of the room.

Bennett cocked an eyebrow as he watched her go.

He then leisurely followed her down the stairs.

Claudia descended the stairs, coincidently running into Marcia. "Happy birthday, Mrs. Dreskin!" Marcia greeted warmly.

“Thank you, Marcia!"

Initially, Claudia had hurried downstairs to avoid any questions from Bennett. However, upon exiting the garden, her pace picked up even more.

Jace had called her earlier to mention that he had bought a gift, but he hadn't disclosed what it was.

Filled with curiosity, Claudia bypassed the garden and proceeded outside, where she noticed a gentleman stationed near the entrance.

As he saw her, he stepped forward, inquiring, “Hello, are you Miss Claudia Marshall?"

Looking at his empty hands, Claudia felt a mix of confusion and anticipation but acknowledged with a nod, replying, “Yes, that's me May I know who you are?"

“Good day, Miss Marshall. I work for your father, Mr. Marshall. He asked me to tell his heartfelt birthday wishes and to present you with this birthday token of affection, wishing you joy and a life filled with happiness."

The man handed Claudia something and continued, "Miss Marshall, here is the car key. Feel free to check the car, and if everything checks out, kindly call Mr. Marshall to confirm that you've received his gift."

Only then did Claudia shift her attention to the object behind the man - a sleek blue Maserati sports car. Not a Limited edition, yet boasts a market price in the vicinity of five million.

Aware of the shaky ground her father's business stood on, Claudia appreciated the immense effort it took Jace to uphold the family business.

Five million wasn't a small amount, especially considering the company's precarious situation at the moment.
