Chapter: 740
While they drove home, Claudia couldn't stop watching the fireworks video on her phone.
She had never seen such a beautiful fireworks display before.
Claudia basked in a sense of uniqueness as the dazzling fireworks display belonged exclusively to her.
He had made her feel incredibly special and Loved.
His thoughtfulness and attention to detail made the evening truly magical.
The memories of this special night would stay with her forever. She thought to herself happily.
When they arrived home, Claudia quickly changed her shoes and hurried to the guest room to get her diary before Bennett could ask about it.
She found her diary and noticed the Lock on it. It suddenly occurred to her that even if Bennett did find her diary, he wouldn't be able to open it without the key.
It turned out that he hadn't read it after all! Then how did he know all those things? Could it be that he did dream of her in his dream?
Claudia retrieved the journal she had used in middle school and went to the master bedroom.
As she entered the room, Bennett handed her a glass of water. When he noticed the journal under her arm, he raised his eyebrows and asked, "Is that your diary?"
She took the glass and said shyly, "This is my diary from middle school." She then handed it to Bennett.
He accepted the diary but refrained from opening it. Glancing at her, he asked, "Would you mind if I read it tomorrow?"
“Of course not! That's totally fine," Claudia replied quickly. "I'm going to take a shower now.”
She awkwardly handed the half-empty glass of water back to Bennett and hurriedly made her way to the cloakroom in her slippers to get her clothes.
After watching Claudia disappear into the bathroom, Bennett went to the bedside table and set down the glass. He then sat on the nearby sofa and turned his eyes to the notebook.
As he flipped through the pages, he was taken back to Claudia's middle school years and read about her experiences through her eyes. He discovered that she had had a natural flair for writing since 7th grade. Claudia could effortlessly fill several pages in her diary, whereas her classmates struggled with short essays.
He also found that her writing often centered around her passion for piano competitions, which she extensively documented throughout her diary entries.
Bennett chuckled when he read about her experience in her second year in junior high, where she expressed annoyance with her male peers who would constantly pass her love letters. Despite their advances, she had no interest in love or romantic relationships at the time.
When Claudia emerged from the bathroom, she found that Bennett wasn't in the room. She walked out absentmindedly and found him sitting on the sofa, engrossed in her diary.
Her cheeks immediately flushed with embarrassment.
“I've finished taking a shower."
Bennett looked up at her and asked, "Are you sleepy?"
"No, I'm fine," she replied, her eyes fixed on the notebook in his hand. "Didn't you say you were going to read it tomorrow?"
