Chapter: 741
Bennett smiled sheepishly. "I couldn't wait." She was rendered speechless. As Claudia thought about the contents of her diary, she began to feel flustered. "Um, I think I'm going to do my skincare routine now," she mumbled.
Without waiting for a response, she turned and hurried back to her dresser, feeling self-conscious.
Bennett, sensing her discomfort, put down the diary. He grabbed his pajamas and headed into the bathroom.
Claudia let out a sigh of relief as she applied the cream to her face and settled onto the bed.
Despite the late hour, Claudia still felt excited after the day's events and couldn't sleep.
She scrolled through Facebook, feeling bored, until she came across Aurora's profile picture. Without hesitation, she sent her friend the fireworks video and a message to her inbox.
“Aurora! Guess why Bennett took me to the seaside?"
Aurora's reply was quick and playful.
“I don't really want to know. Ha-ha, just kidding. Just tell me already!"
Claudia hesitated, feeling awkward about sharing such personal details with her friend. But the excitement was too much to keep to herself.
“Do you remember the movie we watched over and over in 9th grade?"
Aurora replied, “Yes, I do! You said if anyone treated you like the hero treated the heroine, you would marry him on the spot!"
Claudia's fingers flew across the keyboard as she typed out her response. "That's exactly what Bennett did to wish me a happy birthday tonight! I can't believe it, Aurora. It feels Like a dream come true
Aurora was shocked. "What? How is that even possible? How would he know? You told him about the movie?"
Claudia unconsciously shook her head as she typed her response. "No, I didn't. I thought he might have read about it in my diary, but it's locked, and he couldn't have opened it."
Aurora frowned in confusion and typed. "What? Then how could he have known about your fantasy? Did he just guess it?"
“I don't think it was a lucky guess. But I have no idea how he knew about it!" Claudia typed back.
Aurora let out a sigh. "Well, I'm happy for you, but I'm getting tired of all this public display of affection!"
Claudia felt awkward when she realized the video she sent Aurora about the fireworks was already marked as ‘delivered’ when her Latest response popped up.
Aurora didn't reply until five minutes Later with the message. "So... Can you ask Mr. Dreskin if any of his friends are single?"
She was envious and wanted to fall in love with someone just as charming as Bennett.
When Bennett came out of the shower, he found Claudia giving him an odd ‘Look.
He cocked an eyebrow, walked up to her, and wrapped his arms around her. He leaned into her ear and whispered, "Mrs. Dreskin, why are you looking at me like that? Is there something you want?”
When the man's low and raspy voice filled her ears, Claudia glanced at him, blushing. "I didn't mean to stare at you."
