Chapter: 758
“My husband came to pick me up.”
Mathews nodded and said, "Then we'll be off." After saying that, he walked towards the minibus parked on the other side.
Only Joann and Trudy remained. They exchanged a few more pleasantries before departing as well.
Bennett glanced indifferently at the minivan driving away before turning to Claudia and asking, "What do you want to eat for dinner?"
“I'm starving! I want to eat everything. He smiled and said, “You've worked hard today, Mrs. Dreskin." Embarrassed by the praise, Claudia gave a modest shrug.
“It wasn't too bad."
Claudia followed him into the car, feeling drained after a long day of filming.
The thoughtful driver adjusted the air conditioner, ensuring Claudia wouldn't feel chilly in her T-shirt.
She glanced at the driver and hesitated briefly, and then gave in to the urge to inch closer to Bennett.
Leaning on his shoulder, she snuggled against him. "I was scared half to death today! Joann put the idea in my head that Mathews had feelings for me."
Bennett raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Oh?"
She glanced up at him and recounted the events of the day. "I'm so relieved I asked him directly. Otherwise, it would have been incredibly awkward."
Bennett wrapped his arm around her waist and drew her closer to him.
“If it turns out to be true, Mrs. Dreskin, what will you do?" he inquired softly.
Claudia sat up slightly, blinking at Bennett. "But there is no 'if'."
Yet, even if it were true, she remained uncertain what she would do about it.
After all, Mathews had never openly expressed his feelings for her, leaving her with Limited options
Bennett playfully pinched her earlobe and said, "“Sophistry."
Feeling embarrassed, Claudia quickly changed the topic.
“What should we have for dinner?"
Bennett reclined his head, gazing at her. "Something you Like."
Her brows briefly creased, leaving her speechless.
It seemed she still had no idea where he was taking her, making Claudia question why she had bothered asking him in the first place.
Meanwhile, the minivan in which Mathews was traveling pulled up at the curb.
