Chapter: 820
Was he angry?
It was Saturday, but they could not spend time together because she went out early in the morning and did not even go home for dinner.
Did she take things a bit too far?
Aurora glanced at her phone and pointed out, "You haven't heard from him in an entire day, have you? Is he angry?"
However, Aurora had barely finished speaking when Claudia's phone beeped with a message. "Mrs. Dreskin, have you had dinner?"
Aurora was at a loss for words.
She should not have said anything at all.
Claudia immediately typed a response.
“Not yet. I'm going to eat with
Aurora.”
Aurora read her reply and said, “You can eat together. I'm fine eating alone."
Claudia waved her hand dismissively. "Hurry up and get out of the car now. I'm hungry, too.”
“Well, it's good that you still care about me," Aurora said, grinning and slightly pleased.
However, Claudia was not paying attention to her anymore because she was busy replying to Bennett's message.
After a while, she raised her head and looked at Aurora apologetically.
“Aurora, let's eat here next time, okay? There are so many people waiting for a table, and I want to go home early."
Aurora gaped at her.
It seemed that she celebrated too early.
Despite her dismay, she had no choice but to agree.
Aurora gave in to Claudia's wish for the sake of the latter's harmonious marriage. They then picked a Mexican restaurant with fewer diners so they wouldn't have to wait long for a table.
After they had finished eating, Aurora suggested, “Cece, you don't have to give me a ride home. I'll just take a cab."
Claudia shook her head in refusal. "If you take a cab, it will take too long. I'll drive you home, okay?"
Aurora, feeling a little more at ease, paid for their food and went back to the parking lot with Claudia.
It was already seven o'clock in the evening. When the sun went down, a twilight ambiance descended.
