Chapter: 828
Despite the distance, Claudia caught every word Aurora said. It left her unable to muster any sweet words to appease Bennett at the moment. A bit perplexed, Bennett called out over the phone, "Cece?"
Regaining her composure, Claudia brushed her cheek reflexively before diverting the topic.
“We are just about to eat dinner. How about you?"
“I'm heading for dinner as well. Enjoy yours.”
"Okay."
As they were about to end the call, Bennett expressed his willingness and asked again, “Are you sure you don't want me to pick you up from the train station tomorrow?"
Hearing his words, Claudia felt more nervous. "No, there's no need." Maybe the two of them would go back together tomorrow.
Of course, if Bennett didn't come to Khawst, it wouldn't happen.
“Alright, be careful out there and enjoy your meal."
“Okay."
With that, she ended the call.
After ending the call, Claudia glanced at Aurora and Amalia, a bit embarrassed, and asked, “I'm hungry. Shall we go grab something to eat, you two lovely ladies?”
Amalia nodded eagerly. "Sure, let's head back to the hotel and have something simple for dinner. You have a competition tomorrow, honey Once that's over, I'll treat you to some amazing food."
“Don't count on treating her to something amazing after the competition!" interjected a voice.
Confused, Amalia asked, "What? Why not?"
“Because she'll be busy accompanying her husband, didn't you hear?"
Claudia, blushing from the teasing, playfully nudged her friend.
“Enough with the jokes. Otherwise, I might toss you into the ocean as shark bait."
“Oh, I'm trembling in fear! You know what? You should be thanking me for covering for you! How else do you plan to explain all the missed calls, then?"
Flustered, Claudia replied, "Yes, yes! You're the best! I'm really hungry. Can we eat now, Miss Helpful?"
“By all means. Your pretty face has persuaded me to set aside the banter until after dinner." Claudia was left speechless. It seemed she really needed to find a boyfriend for Aurora to keep her busy.
Concerned about prematurely revealing her identity, they opted for room service that evening.
Planning to turn in early for her competition at ten the next morning, Claudia decided to shower and head to bed.
No sooner had she settled into bed than her phone buzzed with a text.
