Chapter: 829
“Miss Marshall, have you arrived in Khawst?"
Claudia was at a loss for words.
Kayla's arrogance knew no bounds
Tossing her phone to the person responsible for the teasing, she said, “Take a look at this!"
Aurora, engrossed in her novel, looked up. "What happened? Did you have a spat with Mr. Dreskin?"
"No," Claudia responded, "it's another message from Kayla."
“Let's see it then."
As Aurora picked up Claudia‘s phone, a new message from Kayla flashed across the screen, Reading it aloud, she said, "My friend will be at the award ceremony tomorrow. She plans to help unmask that mysterious contestant CC for me. Then we'll know what kind of girl Townsend has been in love with for all these years."
Aurora grinned.
“What's Kayla thinking? Who's ‘we’? Want me to reply?” Claudia nodded. "Go ahead."
She then took Aurora's hand and said, “Actually, forget it. Let's not engage. I was already considering revealing my identity tomorrow. If Kayla wants to do the heavy lifting, then by all means.”
Claudia sported a cunning smile as she spoke
Aurora's eyes twinkled.
“You're onto something, Cece! Hahaha! Can you imagine Kayla's face when she realizes the woman behind the mask is you?"
Claudia shrugged.
“Well, I hope she doesn't cause a scene. I'd rather not be linked to her in public."
“Hahaha! You've really come into your own, haven't you, Cece?"
Claudia frowned slightly. "Wasn't I always this way?"
"Yes! Absolutely! Miss Marshall, it's bedtime for you."
Checking her watch, Claudia agreed. "You're right. Good night."
“Good night," returned Aurora, nodding.
She should also retire early to be well-rested for the spectacle she expected to unfold at the award ceremony. She couldn't help but wonder how Kayla would embarrass herself.
And so, with that delightful thought, Aurora prepared for bed.
Late into the night, Kayla kept glancing at her phone. Claudia hadn't responded, but it didn't matter to her. Ignoring the message wouldn't change anything.
