Chapter: 831
His special one was actually his wife. How could he possibly cheat on her with another woman, which was also her?
A wave of relief washed over Duncan. As someone who took honesty seriously, he had no tolerance for infidelity.
"Oh, I get it. You're going to say your goodbyes to her, right?" Duncan shook his head, adding, “You two had a thing when you were young after all. You should say goodbye properly and then focus on the here and now."
Bennett said nothing, simply parking the car. "Let's go. They're checking tickets in ten minutes."
“You know, the timing is really awkward. Why couldn't we have come yesterday? We could have slept in today.”
Bennett gave him a dismissive glance. "I wake up at six every day.” Again, Duncan was left speechless.
Bennett was indeed an odd one.
Curiosity about this CC character persisted as they drove, but Bennett remained mum.
When they arrived, the competition site was already buzzing with activity.
They were guided to VIP seats, and as soon as they sat down, Duncan began scanning the competitors.
“Who's this CC? Hey, Look! Why is one of the racers wearing a mask? Does she have a screw loose or something?"
No sooner had he finished speaking than the announcer introduced CC. Duncan felt a shiver down his spine. He looked at the masked competitor and was at a loss for words.
Great, does Bennett have a thing for masks or what?
Duncan thought to himself.
When Bennett walked into the hall, Kayla finally let out a satisfied smile.
Up to this point, she hadn't seen Claudia, leading her to believe that Claudia was perhaps too afraid to face the truth.
No matter, she thought, today she would bring the harsh reality straight to Claudia's doorstep.
Kayla's eyes settled on Bennett, comfortably seated in the VIP area, and she felt a thrill of anticipation.
The big screen showed CC in a red and black protective suit, holding a helmet in her left hand. Her face, as always, was hidden behind a purple floral mask.
Today would be the day that mask came off after ten long years!
After the opening ceremony, the racers went backstage to get ready.
The female racers, a dozen in total, were split into two groups for the morning competition. The male competitors, being more in number, were set to race in the afternoon.
The weather in Khawst was ideal, and because it was the weekend, the venue was buzzing with people.
The camera on the big screen shifted its focus to the ocean, capturing its calm, azure waves. It then panned back to the crowd, alive with excitement.
