Chapter: 867
He grinned, teasing, "Oh, Mrs. Dreskin, your memory seems to be failing you."

As Claudia stumbled over a response, a knock at the door broke the moment .

Bennett glanced towards the door, saying, “Dinner must be here. I'LL get it."

She nodded, relief washing over her as she watched him go. Seizing the opportunity, she hopped off the sofa to freshen up in the restroom. Bennett ordered dinner, and all of it was Claudia's favorite dishes Her stomach had been growling for a while, somewhat tamed by the coconut juice earlier. Now, the aroma of the food instantly reignited her hunger.

"Go ahead and dig in."

Bennett didn't sit down right away after handing her the knife and fork.

Caught off guard, she asked, “Aren't you eating?"

“In a bit, need to reply to a message first."

"Oh, okay."

It seemed even on weekend, Mr. Dreskin had commitments to attend to. Minutes later, he joined her, eager to delve into the warm meal. Taking a sip of the soup, Claudia said, “It's delicious but quite hot, be careful."

“Okay.”

He answered and took a sip of the soup.

Despite her hunger, Claudia maintained her manners, eating neatly without a word.

When she ate, she tended to take small bites, although not exceptionally slowly.

Watching her, Bennett noticed his hunger was more pronounced than before.

The night grew deeper following their dinner.

The outside was enshrouded in darkness, seen through the expansive French window. Claudia accepted the warm water from Bennett, sipping thoughtfully before a realization struck her given that it was Sunday evening.

“Don't you have work tomorrow? Shouldn't we be heading home tonight?"

At the moment, it wasn't excessively Late; around eight, and they could reach Linmarsh by a little past ten if they took the high-speed train.

“We can head back tomorrow."

She gave a nod of agreement, inquiring, “Did you pack your things?"

“I did, they're in my room."

His response caught her slightly off guard.

“You booked a separate room?"
