Chapter: 881
Claudia found herself caught off guard by this turn of events. Despite experiencing a return from overseas when she was young and famous, she had never been besieged by reporters.
Yet now, prompted by the incident of her mask coming off, a group of reporters had assembled at the hotel doorway, lying in wait.
Wearing a concerned expression, Claudia responded, "But we have plans to head back to Linmarsh in the afternoon."
Amalia paused and said, "I will do whatever I can to talk them down. Could you consider having Lunch at the hotel instead?"
Claudia understood Amalia's intent. Not wanting to impose further, she assured, “Alright, we'll stay put until one. If the reporters remain, don't sweat it. You've had a grueling couple of days; you should rest."
“It's just a few hectic days in a year; it's no bother. Alright, take a good rest. I'll try to divert some of the reporters’ attention away from you."
“Thanks a lot, Amalia."
“No need for thanks; I have actually been dreaming about it for a long time!" Amalia said excitedly.
Feeling awkward, Claudia opted to end the conversation there. "I'LL hang up now."
“Alright ."
After ending the call, she noticed Bennett was done speaking too.
Claudia approached him, her hand reaching up to adjust her hair as she admitted with a hint of embarrassment.
“My assistant called me a moment ago, mentioning that there are numerous reporters waiting for me at the hotel's entrance.”
Gazing down at her with a playful smile, Bennett teased, “Looks like you're the star of the hour, Mrs. Dreskin."
Claudia could feel his teasing tone. In the past, her face would have turned red.
But things were different now. Displaying a determined expression, Claudia retorted, “Haven't I always been famous?”
She had long made a name for herself as a skilled pianist!
She might have maintained a Low profile, but her accolades spoke loudly for her!
Being self-assertive was not typical for her. Observing the self-satisfied lady standing before him, a smile broke across Bennett's face as he admitted, "Well, you're right."
Catching the joyful sparkle in his dark eyes, Claudia suddenly became self-conscious and swiftly diverted the conversation.
“So, stepping out for lunch isn't an option, then!"
Bennett looked at her with doting eyes and said, "I will listen to you, Mrs. Dreskin."
A bit flustered, Claudia headed towards the couch and grabbed the hotel's menu to ponder over the food choices available for later.
Bennett couldn't help but watch her, wearing a smile on his face.
