Chapter: 905
So, she grimaced and lied, “I don't. I have no idea how I got on Miss Marshall's bad side, Maybe she's mad at me because of how well I get along with Townsend."

The wrinkles in her friend*s brow deepened, “Just because of that? It seems that Mrs. Dreskin is a very paranoid person

After a brief pause, she added, “Now I wonder what she did to make Bennett marry her. You may not know this, Kayla, but Claudia has been the talk of the town even before she married Bennett."

Of course, Kayla knew what happened. She had the woman investigated before she came back to the country.

When she learned that Bennett had suddenly married a woman she had never heard of, she hurriedly returned home from abroad.

Instead of telling that to her friend, though, Kayla asked, "What do you mean? It hasn't been that long since I came back, so I still have no idea how she and Townsend got together. Townsend never mentioned having a girlfriend before, so I didn't expect him to suddenly get married. I was really shocked when he first told me about it."

Actually, Bennett did not even tell her that he had gotten married.

Truth be told, he had never let her in on any details of his personal life.

While thinking back on what happened a few months ago, her friend hummed softly to herself.

"We're just as shocked as you are. Mrs. Dreskin used to be with Anthony Nixon, but on their wedding day, he left her at the altar. When she ran after him, she got hit by a car.

She looked really pitiful at that time. I guess when people are desperate, they can really do anything. Shortly after she was released from the hospital, she got married to Bennett. Then, she posted something on Facebook, which must have embarrassed the Nixons.

Up until now, nobody knows what she did to win Bennett over in a month. Kayla faked a smile.

"Maybe Townsend fell in love with her at first sight." Her friend gave her an expression that said she was too naive.

"I don't think Bennett is that shallow. He's seen more beautiful women than we've seen money. It was impossible for him to fall in love with her at first sight."

She stared at Kayla for a while before her eyes lit up.

“Kayla, did Bennett call you to tell you that he got married? Or did he tell you about it in person?"

Kayla was caught off guard by the question, Nevertheless, she swallowed hard and answered, “Not really. Actually, he didn't call that day to tell me he'd get married. He just asked when I would return home. He didn't exactly contact me to tell me about his marriage."

“Oh, don't you get it?! Why do you think he told you that? He even asked you when you'd come home, and you still didn't get it?! Have you forgotten how well he treated you before?"

Kayla and her friend had known each other since they were children, so the latter was aware of Bennett's treatment of Kayla during their school days.

"Bennett has always been kind to you, even when we were still students. Don't you remember that? There was even a time when he brought you breakfast for several consecutive days.

Also, he waited for you every day after our classes at the school gate.

Kayla did, in fact, recall everything her friend mentioned.

However, the truth was a bit different from what her friend knew. Bennett brought her breakfast because his mother asked him to do so. He waited for her after class because their families often had meals together.

Of course, Kayla had no intention of telling her friend about this.
