Chapter: 909
"I'm good now keep shopping
“Oh, okay."
Once they exited the mall, Aurora hailed a cab while Claudia called Bennett. I'LL end up spending my allowance for the next month if I
Meanwhile, at a certain golf course, upon checking the caller ID on his ringing phone, Bennett handed his club to Duncan, “Take it."
Duncan shot him a confused look.
"What's wrong? You don't want to play anymore?"
Instead of responding, Bennett walked away from him.
He went to the side to answer the call. Once it ended, he grabbed his coat and prepared to leave.
Duncan, upon realizing what he was about to do, ran to him with the golf club in his hand, “Are you leaving? Why so soon?"
Bennett looked back at him and replied, "I have to pick up my wife
Duncan, who had just made fun of Bennett for being abandoned by his wife, was at a loss for words.
Once again, Bennett succeeded in rubbing it on his friend's face that he was single.
It was Saturday, so the roads leading to and from the mall were congested. Aurora had called herself a Uber car, but the map showed it was still about a mile away from her.
Similarly, Bennett said that he could be delayed by up to half an hour, so he suggested that Claudia do more shopping while waiting for him.
When Claudia put her phone down, Aurora asked, "Mr. Dreskin is stuck in a traffic jam, isn't he?"
Claudia nodded.
"He said it might take him half an hour to get here."
“Do you want to get some bubble tea while we wait?"
After giving it some consideration, Claudia replied, "Sure It was better than standing there and doing nothing.
The mall was crowded with customers, so it was not a surprise that there was a long line of people waiting outside the bubble tea store.
Claudia got in line for a smoothie but had to wait because there were already seventeen people in Line.
Thankfully, the employees in the store were fast workers. Ten minutes later, the number of customers in front of Claudia decreased to seven. Aurora was monitoring the cab's distance from the mall on her phone. At first, she was worried that the vehicle would arrive before she could get her drink. Then, the driver got stuck in a traffic jam nine hundred meters away from the mall.
After waiting for fifteen minutes, the two finally got their drinks.
"Cece okay my ride’s here. I have to go now, Message me when you get home, Aurora reminded as she stabbed the straw into the cup.
