Chapter: 910
Sipping her smoothie, Claudia looked up to see Aurora sprinting to the exit of the mall,
She went straight to the vehicle waiting outside. Claudia followed and waved goodbye as Aurora got into the cab.
Shortly after the vehicle drove away, Claudia's phone rang. She struggled to get the device from her bag while also holding her drink in one hand.
She accepted the call as soon as she saw who the caller was.
"Hello, Bennett?"
It was a bit loud on the other end of the line; Claudia could mostly hear the honking of cars. Amidst the noises, Bennett's voice was low and calm as he said, "There's a traffic jam here. It might take me another ten minutes to get there."
Claudia hummed in acknowledgment.
“It's fine. I just brought a cup of smoothie. I'll drink it while I wait for you."
The man smiled and asked, "Does it taste good?"
Claudia's cheeks flushed a little when she heard the amusement in the man's voice, "It's delicious. I'll give you some later."
“Okay. Bye."
"Bye." After ending the call, Claudia went to a quieter area to wait.
She had been standing there for only a moment when the phone in her left hand began to vibrate.
Claudia glanced at it and discovered that Aurora had sent her a message. It was a photo. Curious, she clicked on the message to view it.
There were several people in the photo, and Claudia had no idea who they were or why Aurora sent it to her.
She was about to ask her friend about it when another message from Aurora arrived.
"Cece, check out the second person on the left in the photo. Isn't that Delilah?"
Claudia had to think for a while before she remembered who Delilah was. She had almost forgotten about this woman.
She zoomed in on the photo to get a clearer view of the second person on the left.
Aurora snapped the photo when she was in the car. She only managed to capture the person's profile, and it was a little blurry.
Claudia stared at it for a minute before replying, "I think it's her, but I'm not completely sure."
Aurora asked, “Didn't she take Anthony's money and leave town? She'd gone off the grid for about three months, but it seemed she was back, and I have a feeling that she's up to something."
Claudia pressed her lips together as she typed a response.
"She is fiercely competitive and likes keeping up appearances. After receiving harsh criticism from the netizens on Twitter, she vanished without a trace, probably because she couldn't handle reading the hate comments. I think she's making public appearances again because of me.
