Chapter: 916
Claudia asked curiously, “Are you going to post it on Facebook?"
"Did you think I wouldn't like The man glanced at her before answering, your gift?" Claudia averted her gaze, embarrassed because he guessed it right.
Bennett did not push her for an answer, He just smiled and muttered, “Look at this."
He clicked on the group chat he shared with his friends.
Then, he sent the photo he had just taken.
Bennett, the person who had been barely active in the group chat, suddenly sent a message, surprising the other members. When they clicked on the chat window, they saw the photo Bennett had forwarded.
Breck stared at it in confusion.
He asked, “Dude, why did you send this here
Duncan inquired, "That's a collar clip, right?"
Breck added, “Is there anything special about that collar clip Bennett responded vaguely, “Is there a special occasion today?"
The question confused his friends even more.
Breck questioned, “Did your phone get stolen or something? Who are you talking to right now?"
Bennett asked, "If it's not a special occasion, then why did my wife give me a gift?"
Grover was about to send a response but stopped. It seemed he entered the group chat at the worst possible time. Breck glared at his phone, stunned.
It was Duncan who reacted first.
"I think that's enough, Bennett."
Bennett stopped responding. He exited the messaging app and opened Facebook to post the photo with the caption, "Thank you, Mrs. Dreskin."
Shortly after he posted it, Breck commented, “I get it already! Your wife gave you a gift. Congratulations! Now, stop showing off."
Claudia was sitting next to Bennett. Therefore, she witnessed the whole process of his bragging.
Bennett turned to her and asked, “Did you see that?"
Yes Claudia peered up at him shyly. She believed that he liked the gift now.
A sense of smugness rose within Claudia, and she was a little embarrassed by it.
She spent a lot of time and thought into selecting the present, and the recipient clearly appreciated her efforts, This sense of fulfillment never occurred to her except after winning a particularly challenging competition.
She liked that her hard work had not been in vain,
