Chapter: 958
“What do you mean by that?" she asked. His words had managed to distract Zendaya.
“We've crossed paths a few times.”
Zendaya eyed him skeptically.
“Are you pulling my leg? How would you know someone like her?"
Xavier snorted.
“Weren't you the one saying my former flames were all beauty and no brains? Claudia's both good-looking and talented. Wouldn't dating someone like her elevate my taste?"
“Just keep that notion to yourself and don't spread it around," Zendaya warned,
“Why are you so lost in your fantasies this late at night? You think Claudia would fall in love with a guy like you? I'll run naked along the Seine River if that ever happens," she sneered.
Xavier perked up at her words.
“Then you'd better prepare yourself for that naked run."
Zendaya didn't take him seriously.
“Fine, if you can date her even for just a single day, I'll uphold my end of the deal. If you can't, then you're the one who'll have to go streaking."
Taking out his phone, Xavier prepared to record her statement.
“Say that again.”
Unfazed, Zendaya repeated her wager.
Xavier sent the recording to her, and she promptly uploaded it to a cloud drive.
“Goodbye. I'm off to woo my new girlfriend," he said, pocketing his phone. Zendaya felt a strong urge to kick him as he walked away.
Although Xavier was brimming with confidence, he had no idea he was about to face his first failure,
And it would be the worst failure he would suffer.
Claudia had no idea that someone was discussing pursuing her behind her back, but even if she had known, she probably would have shrugged it off. Now that the show was over, all she wanted to do was go back home rather than go anywhere else.
She had already visited Feling multiple times in the past, so it no longer held any novelty for her. In addition, she usually opted to stay in and rest rather than go out. Right now, she wanted nothing more than to collapse on the bed and go to sleep.
Following a restful sleep, Claudia intended to eat breakfast before going to the shopping mall to buy the bags Aurora had asked for. Then, she would fly back to her own country after dinner.
Back to the present, Claudia was really exhausted. She kept yawning during the ride back to the hotel.
Joann had planned to ask if she wanted to eat something, but after seeing how tired she looked, she decided to just take her back to her room and bid her good night.
