Chapter: 971
Her legs grew weaker with each passing moment. Although their kiss had only just begun, it felt as if all her strength had been drained away. She melted into his arms, completely surrendering to the experience. Claudia couldn't help but notice that Bennett's kissing skills had reached new heights.
And she cherished every moment of it.
Once Claudia had been released, she felt like her whole body was drained, as if she'd been left out to dry under the sun.
Her body was so warm that it felt like a furnace, and she breathed erratically, almost as if her lungs might give up on her at any moment.
Feeling particularly weak in her legs, she leaned on Bennett entirely for physical support.
She rested in his arms, and after some time, her frantic breaths began to find a steadier rhythm, Raising her head just a bit, she glanced at Bennett and asked, “Are you going back to work?"
Bennett looked back at her. Her face was still flushed, and a mist clouded her eyes. When she raised her head to look at him, she gave off the air of a fawn that had lost its way in the morning fog.
Unable to maintain eye contact, Bennett swallowed hard, his Adam‘s apple bobbing noticeably. He looked away, let out a restrained chuckle, and said, “I think Jackson would be very thankful for your concern."
Right after their intimate moment, she switched her attention to whether he had to go back to work.
Feeling a bit awkward, Claudia said, "You mentioned an important meeting later, right?"
Checking his watch, Bennett leaned in to give her a kiss on the forehead before releasing his hold on her.
"I have to go back to the company now, Mrs. Dreskin."
Claudia touched her forehead, where his lips had been, and looked up at him.
“Then let me walk you out.”
“You're not feeling tired?" he asked.
A smile appeared on his lips as he cupped her cheeks, “You should rest," he suggested.
Suppressing another yawn, Claudia looked at Bennett with a touch of embarrassment.
She turned back towards the bed, swiftly pulled the blanket over herself, and said, “Maybe I'll just get some sleep then.”
“Sleep well. Have a good afternoon, Mrs. Dreskin," Bennett said.
“Take care," Claudia replied, and closed her eyes.
However, the sound of Bennett's footsteps made her stir. Moments later, she felt the blanket on her body being tucked.
Opening her eyes, she found herself meeting Bennett's intense gaze.
Reaching for the remote control, Bennett closed the curtains in the room and said, "Sweet dreams."
After speaking, Bennett got up and exited the room. As he descended the stairs, he ran into Marcia.
