Chapter: 972
She took a moment to collect her thoughts and then ventured to ask, “Sir, would you like me to prepare some afternoon tea for Mrs. Dreskin?"

Glancing upstairs in the direction of the master bedroom, Bennett responded, "No, that won't be necessary. Please make some soup and plan for a light dinner later on."

“Okay, sir," Marcia replied.

Interactions with Bennett were always sparse for Marcia. His chilly demeanor often deterred her from engaging in conversation with him. Satisfied with his unambiguous instructions, she refrained from further discussion and promptly retreated to the kitchen.

As soon as Bennett was gone, silence engulfed the room.

Already in a sleepy state, Claudia felt her eyes grow heavier as she lay in bed.

Yawning yet again, she looked around the dim room before shutting her eyes and drifting off to sleep almost instantly.

The next time Claudia opened her eyes, the clock showed it was already past five in the afternoon.

The sky outside was awash with the fading glow of the day. She reached for the remote and opened the curtains. Sitting up and stretching her legs for a bit, she was finally wide awake. That was when she picked up her phone.

Her screen was awash with unread messages on Line. She quickly responded to a text from Jace and then moved on to reply to Joann's messages. Finally, she opened Aurora's chat window.

Aurora had sent a message over an hour ago that read, “Cece, are you back home yet?"

And then, about half an hour ago, Aurora had fired off several more texts.

“Did you run into Mathews on your flight? I saw some posts about him trending online. He was talking about wanting to date. Do you know if he's seeing anyone?"

Afterward, Aurora sent her a bunch of screenshots.

Claudia tapped on the pictures and realized the buzz centered around something Mathews had said to his fans at the airport.

“I saw the beautiful love." "Everyone desires true love."

With those words, Mathews had set the internet abuzz.

His fan base was busy speculating about a possible relationship, but any deep dives into his past yielded no hints.

The only person raising eyebrows was Claudia, but since she was already married, she was quickly ruled out,

Even so, given Mathews’ cryptic remarks, fans jumped to the conclusion that he must be romantically involved with someone.

Aurora, who followed Mathews with maternal devotion, felt a mix of relief and concern. Learning that Claudia had shared a flight with the heartthrob, she couldn't resist asking for the inside scoop,

Feeling a bit awkward, Claudia texted back, "I wouldn't know. We don't know each other well."

At the moment, Aurora was killing time, waiting for her workday to end. No sooner had Claudia sent her message than she received some pictures from Aurora,

Aurora's message popped up.
