Chapter: 978
Wetting her hands, she splashed water on her face.
The cool water brought down the heat from her cheeks and helped her regain her composure.
She couldn't help but think, if not for that phone call, what would have happened?
The thought alone made her blush once more.
She shook off the thought, took a seat on the toilet, and tried to focus her mind elsewhere.
By the time Claudia emerged from the bathroom, Bennett had already finished his phone call.
Curious, she asked, “Who was that?"
“It's Breck," he responded.
Who else could be such a killjoy aside from Breck?
Claudia nodded in acknowledgement. She turned to continue unpacking her suitcase.
But then her eyes landed on the corner of Bennett's lips. The split skin there reminded her of their recent kiss.
Was it that intense?
Feeling a bit uneasy, Claudia glanced at Bennett before she crouched down and continued unpacking.
When had she bitten him?
Did she actually do it?
Did she really bite him?
As Claudia was caught in her thoughts about whether or not she had bitten him, Bennett's familiar voice broke in.
"Claudia, would you like to eat something before going to bed?"
“Yes, I would," she replied, looking up at him.
“It's just past seven."
She knew that she'd feel hungry about thirty minutes later.
Bennett gave her a soft look.
"Breck just invited me for some late- night snacks."
Claudia initially wanted to decline, but then she thought it might be more enjoyable to have company.
