The food, though probably delicious, tasted bland to him, like chewing on wax.
He ate slowly, gazing at Camila, silently urging her to finish quickly.
However, Camila ate slowly.
Aldrin said with patience, "Camila, dear Mila, please don't worry me like this. Just tell me, or I'll worry myself sick."
Camila finished her soup, setting down the bowl and looking at him.
"Do you really like Laura?"

"I remember she's older than you..."
"We're in the 21st century. Does age matter? She's only a bit older than me. Just a few years." Aldrin paused, then asked, “Did she leave because of our age difference?"

"What did she say to you?" His eyes narrowed. "What? She chose to be with Forrest?"
"No, she didn't," Camila replied.
Aldrin let out a relieved breath. "As long as she's not with Forrest, I can deal with it."
"Really?" Camila was unsure how to break the news to him. "Laura has left. Even I don't know where she's gone."
Suddenly, Aldrin stood up, agitated.
“Are you lying to me? You're her best friend. How could she not tell you? Is she really with Forrest and you want to keep it from me?"
Camila reached out to soothe him, but Aldrin jerked his hand away.
She lost her balance, leaning back over the table.
She was about to fall!
