Chapter: 1723
But in that crucial moment, she was caught in a warm embrace.

Turning around, her expression turned somber upon seeing who it was.

Camila quickly stepped away from his embrace, grasping Aldrin's hand.

“Let's go," she urged.

Aldrin, still seething with anger, was about to object when Camila's stern warning stopped him. “If you want to find out where Laura is, you need to calm down."

Aldrin ceased his resistance immediately.

Harland, who was dining there, hadn't expected to run into Camila.

Feeling her animosity towards him, he hesitated to approach.

However, when she nearly fell, he instinctively reached out to catch her.

"Mila, I just saved you, and you didn't even thank me. Isn't it rude to just walk away like this?" he called after her.

Camila heard his voice and it irritated her immensely.

Aldrin whispered to her, "Wasn't he our old neighbor? Harland Garcia, right? I thought he moved abroad. When did he come back? Have you been in contact with him?"

"No," Camila replied sharply.

Aldrin wasn't convinced.

If they weren't in contact, why the hostility?

He suspected there was a reason for her dislike, but his thoughts were elsewhere.

“Just tell me where Laura is. I need to find her."

Camila paused, pulling a check from her bag and handing it over to Aldrin.

Aldrin, puzzled, asked, "Why are you giving me this money?"

"It's not from me. Laura sent it for you."
