Chapter: 1751
Touching his forehead, Forrest responded, "I was drunk."
He hadn't fully recovered from the previous day's drinking, and today, he had indulged again.
Hence, the situation had escalated.
The car journeyed on smoothly.
Isaac remained silent for an extended period before turning his frustration towards Camila. “And you, weren't you equally troublesome?"
Camila hesitated before responding, surprised by his sudden shift.
“You're referring to me?"
She gestured towards herself in disbelief.
Without diverting his gaze from the road, Isaac reproached, "That bald man is clearly a spiteful thug. Demanding money from him was a direct provocation. I signaled you to stay quiet and leave the matter to me. Why did you insist on intervening?"
A quiet moment passed, and Camila didn't argue.
She realized her careless behavior.
"You've never been this impulsive. What happened to you today?" Isaac turned to look at her.
Leaning back, Camila answered, “Perhaps it was the alcohol."
"You were drinking?" Isaac's voice rose in concern.
Camila explained, "It was just a drink at the director's farewell party."
Curious, Forrest leaned in and asked Camila, "Is Isaac always this strict with you?"
“Be quiet!"
Isaac's sharp rebuke silenced Forrest, who touched his nose awkwardly and decided to remain silent, not particularly bothered by the situation.
As the car came to a stop, Isaac and Camila exited, followed by Forrest.
Camila, moving closer to Isaac, admitted, "I'll be more cautious next time. I admit I was thoughtless."
