Chapter: 1755
Camila again offered him the money left by Laura. “You can either keep working or maybe start your own business."
After some thought, Aldrin accepted the money and said calmly, “Camila, I understand what you're getting at."
Once Aldrin had left, Camila remained downstairs for a while before heading upstairs.
She pushed the door open, but there was no one in the room.
“Isaac."
As she called out, she was suddenly embraced from behind!
She could not help but feel nervous. "Who's this?"
"It's me," Isaac whispered in her ear as he embraced her from behind.
To face him, Camila turned around. She slapped his chest playfully.
"You scared me!"
Isaac caught her hands on his chest and squeezed them. “I'm sorry.
I'll be more careful next time, Camila."
She was really relieved it was just Isaac because she ultimately believed someone had broken into the house. Her heart almost got in her throat!
When she calmed down, she brought up Laura. "I don't know where she could be. Where can she even live by herself?" she asked, her voice filled with worry.
Isaac did not respond. His face contorted in a frown. "You seem exhausted."
As if on cue, she stretched her neck to let some tension out of her muscles. It had been a long, tough day.
Besides, it was late in the night. She couldn't help but yawn.
“Actually, I am."
“Then, why do you care so much?" Isaac asked her.
That made Camila take a moment to realize that he asked not because he cared but because he was blaming her. She was put to shame because she cared too much about other people's business.
