Chapter: 1756
"Well, they're my friends, and I have to care. I can't be indifferent—"
“Okay," he cut her off. “Let's go to bed." Isaac grabbed her in his arms.
"Wait!" She sighed. "I haven't washed up."
“It wouldn't hurt you to skip shower for one day," Isaac grumbled.
"Go to bed now."
Camila obliged and laid on the bed. Once the mattress hit her back, her eyelids started getting heavy. "Then, I'll take a shower in the morning..." she spoke as she slowly drifted off. She was so exhausted and sleepy that it didn't take too long for her to fall asleep.
Isaac laid beside her, pulling the sheets over her. Then, he held her in his arms and slept. Camila settled into a comfortable posture until she was in a deep slumber.
While the two were getting some rest, Forrest couldn't afford to get some because he immediately went looking for Laura the moment he learned of her departure.
He searched everywhere he thought she might go but he didn't have much luck. He didn't find her. She didn't leave any clue nor a single word to him. Not even a goodbye.
She just left.
Forrest, without much luck, walked alone in the street aimlessly.
His thoughts went straight to when she lost her memory. Even if she hated him deep inside, it wouldn't matter because she couldn't remember and he could still see her. He would feel assured because she didn't leave like this. Those moments were blissful unlike this one he was having.
He couldn't do much aside from revel in sadness and guilt. He couldn't escape from the fact that what happened to Laura was his fault in spite of how long he had been walking.
It was late at might. He had no other company aside from the desolated trees and the silver moonlight. The breeze did not shiver his worries away, and the dim light from the street lights did nothing else but stretch his sullen shadow.
With his head filled with shameful thoughts, he walked for a long time. It was already dawn when he returned home.
His absence made Hana so worried that she was about to ask someone to look for him when he got back. Seeing him still in one piece relieved all the tension from her body. "Where have you been?! I've been looking all over for you!"
Hana noticed the lonely expression on his face. “Doesn't Laura want to come back to you?"
Instead of answering, Forrest ignored her question and directly headed upstairs.
"You're not even as decisive as a woman," Hana told him. "Why can't you just leave her?"
Forrest stopped climbing the stairs and looked back to his mother.
