Chapter: 1757
His gaze was cold and piercing.
Hana felt bad with what she said. She averted her gaze from his and said, "I didn't say anything wrong. How can you be more forbearing than a woman?"
Forrest breathed deeply. “I'll be very busy soon," he told her. “I'll find a place to stay near the company.”
"No!" Hana disagreed, "You should stay at home! If you were here, I could at least help you keep an eye on Laura and make sure she wouldn't hurt yous"
“She's gone," he interjected bitterly. "Completely gone. She won't ever come back, so stop fretting about it."
He stopped speaking, and the silence filled the air for a moment.
Hana was flustered at first, but she was able to recover. Soon, a smile appeared on her face.
She was quite pleased to know that Laura left and that she would never come back.
But she couldn't be sure, yet. That was why to confirm Forrest's words, she had someone to investigate.
Meanwhile, it wasn't exactly pleasant to Forrest. When he went upstairs, he stopped and gazed at the room that used to be Laura's.
It took him a moment, but he soon looked away and turned around to go back to his room.
Morning came, and Camila arrived at work on time in spite of going to bed late last night. She didn't have much energy in the morning, but she picked herself up and went for the door. But suddenly, someone grabbed her clothes and dragged her into the alley.
Shocked and scared, she asked, "Who is it?"
"Shh!" whispered Hilaria.
Camila's eyebrows knitted together in a puzzled look as she gazed at the person before her. "What's going on here?"
Why did she react that way?
If Hilaria wanted to say something, she should just speak.
What was the reason for bringing her to this secretive spot?
She suspected a villain was present.
"I don't want to be spotted!" exclaimed Hilaria with a smile. "I needed to express my gratitude to you."
