Chapter: 1794
When he answered her call, Isaac's face lit up with happiness, and he couldn't help but smile. "Why aren't you saying anything? Do you miss me?"
In a hospital at home, squatting in the corner of the operating room, with her lips covered, Camila was shivering. Her body trembled, and she covered her mouth with her hand as tears streamed down her face uncontrollably. She struggled to rein in her emotions.
The thing was, Camila had no idea how to face Alick.
On the other end of the line, Isaac sensed that something was amiss and asked with concern, “Mila, what's wrong?"
Camila couldn't hold back her emotions any longer. She wanted to ask him when he would return.
“Are you crying?" Isaac asked with a hint of panic.
In his eyes, she had always been strong and rarely showed her vulnerability. But she had reached out to him now. He realized that something serious must have happened that she couldn't bear alone.
That must be why she had called him.
Isaac composed himself and assured her, "I'll be back soon."
With tears glistening in her eyes, Camila pleaded, "Please, hurry. I'm scared..."
Isaac was deeply concerned upon hearing her words. With that, he ended the call and called his subordinate in a low voice. "Willie."
Willie walked out and informed him, "The situation inside is still chaotic."
“Assign someone to keep an eye on him. I need to head back home."
“When?”
“Right now."
“I'll get it arranged immediately."
A few hours later, Camila stood anxiously outside the operating room door.
Alick walked over to her and anxiously asked, "How is she?"
“She said she doesn't want to see you right now. You should go back,"
Camila replied.
