Chapter: 1796
Then, Camila turned and made her way to the operating room.

She had performed Annis‘ surgery, so she understood exactly what Annis was going through.

She was the most aware of it all.

“I'll take you back to your room," Camila said softly, careful not to upset her.

Annis looked up, her expression blank, not uttering a word.

Camila guided her back to her room, arranged the bed, and then pulled up a chair to sit beside it.

Annis turned her back to Camila, silent.

Camila hesitated, wanting to speak but remaining silent.

In that moment, any comforting words seemed pointless.

No words could bring solace now.

In the dimly lit room, a heavy silence hung in the air.

Annis' sobs pierced the quiet.

Camila's voice, rough with emotion, broke the silence. "Go ahead and cry, Annis. It's just us here."

Annis' crying grew louder, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably as she wept.

She buried herself under the quilt, her cries filling the room with her pain and sorrow.

Camila stayed by her side, making sure Annis didn't harm herself in her grief.

Annis cried for hours, until the first light of dawn.

Exhausted, she finally fell asleep.

Camila moved quietly, careful not to wake her.

She knew Annis needed this rest, both physically and mentally.
