Camila forced a smile. "So, after getting married, I'm supposed to quit my job? Is that why I'm with you? To live miserably? What's the point of marriage for me then?"

“Stop arguing." Just then, the door swung open.

Annis stood there, her face puffy and her eyes red, clearly swollen from crying too much the night before.

It was at that moment that Camila realized she shouldn't have argued with Isaac right outside the door.

She had awakened Annis.

“I'm sorry," she said, feeling a mix of guilt and remorse.

Annis needed care at that moment.

Camila knew she shouldn't have been arguing with Isaac about family matters.

It wasn't right.

She regretted it and offered, “Let me help you into the room."

Approaching Annis, Camila noticed she hadn't moved. Annis looked at her, concern in her eyes. “Did you and Isaac argue because of me? I don't want to be the reason for any quarrel."

"It's not about you, Camila quickly clarified. “It's just something between us."

Once they were in the room and the door was closed, Camila helped Annis sit and gently asked, “Are you hungry? I can get you something to eat."

Annis shook her head, her sadness having given way to calmness.

She looked at Camila with a serious expression and asked, "Alick and me... do you think he'll still marry me?"

Camila was at a loss for words when faced with her question.

She couldn't guess what Alick was thinking.

Annis pressed her dry lips together and admitted, "Even if he proposes, I don't think I can handle a marriage with him."

Camila knew her all too well.

She embraced Annis, whispering, “I feel so guilty..."
